Savanadurga Rock Climbing
This weekend, I had been to Savanadurga with
theju and his family. It is the place known for Rock Climbing (about 4599 ft.high). The place is about 61+kms from Bangalore. It was really amazing. I have two lines to say that will summarize the rock climbing:
"At early morning, my legs were very fine. By afternoon, my legs were in pain".Just kidding.
Want to know more?
We took about 0.75 hrs to get down to the earth. It was absolutely wonderful to climb the rocks in the morning. We started our journey from Bangalore at about 5:25am in the morning (Sunday) and we had some light breakfast at Magadi and then we went straight to Savanadurga at around 7:00am.
The sun rays were slowly going up and we started to climb the rock. Our Initial momentum of climbing was very slow. The sun was roaring with his rays on us around 7:45 am. There were some steep rocks in the middle that was too scary to climb as our body was sweating a lot against the bright sun and finally, we made it. We were on top of the rocks.
We took about 1.5 hrs(May be even more) to get on to the top of the Rock .
There is a Nandi statue at the top of the rocks. People accompanying me were very good to bring water filled bottle till the top as there is abosolutely nothing you get at the top and you will be definitely loose water from your body by the time you reach the top.
At the top I had lot of fresh grapes, small amount of sweet[because there was a sweet-grabber among the group :)]
theju took lot of snaps with his Digital Camera.
Now, we started to get down to earth around 10:00am. We were facing the downside of the steep rocks now. Getting down was not very easy, we were slipping at lot of places as the sun was very bright and I could hear lot of times
theju saying "Do not see down when getting down, Watch you feet" and I used to say "People watch your feet and close your eyes when you want to see down" (Sorry, Theju for irritating you). We were back to earth after about 0.75 hrs
I thank
theju and his family for getting me this wonderful trip this weekend.
